786. . . The Opening of mystic Love
The whole world is a market-place for Love,
For naught that is, from Love remains remote.
The Eternal Wisdom made all things in Love:
On Love they all depend, to Love all turn.
The earth, the heaven, the sun, the moon, the stars
The center of their orbit ends in Love.
By love are all bewildered, stupefied,
Intoxicated by the Wine of Love.
From each, a mystic silence Love demands,
What do all seek so earnestly?
“Tis Love. Love is the subject of their inmost thoughts,
In Love no longer “Thou” and “I” exist,
For self has passed away in the Beloved.
Now will I draw aside the veil from Love,
And in the temple of mine inmost soul
Behold the Friend, Incomparable Love,
He who would know the secret of both worlds
Will find the secret of them both, is Love.
— Maulana Farid-uh-din
In the Holy Quran God has said ” He indeed succeeds who purifies it(the heart).” The heart is the greatest of all mysteries in the physical realm. it is a doorway to the Divine. A window to the spirit world. The heart is the meeting place of the two worlds. The heart is the very Throne of God. when the heart is clear we receive the divine messages of spirit in our visions at night. an unclear heart blocks the messages from spirit that we receive while sleeping. in the Holy Quran Allah says “every night Eye take the soul unto Myself, and return it to the body upon the waking of the sleeper.” Every night the soul goes to what eye call “night school.” every night the soul receives impressions/lessons/images from the Divine. the heart is like a window for the unseen world/spirit plane. if a window is dirty, light can not shine through it. if a window is clean, the light shines though effortlessly. it is the same with the heart. when the heart is pure/clear the lessons the soul learns in “night school” are conveyed to the mind. if the heart window is not pure the images/lessons can not pass from the spirit realm to the mind of the seeker.
in the Holy Bible God/Allah has said “sometimes when Eye want to give you something, Eye give it to you while you are sleep.” in the Holy Quran, again God/Allah has said ” Eye speak to them from behind a veil.” the sufis have found this veil to be the images/symbols one sees in their sleep. the dream world is a map for the traveler of the path. the stations of the soul, and what level of the chakra system the seeker is at, are often conveyed in the dream world. with a pure clean heart these messages/symbols can be received by the mind to be interpreted by the traveler. On the path to Self/God realization the mind, heart and soul must be purified in that order. First the mind must be made pure, then the heart, and finally the soul. the HEART is the meeting place of the mind and the soul.
the Holy Avatar Jesus(peace be upon him) said “the kingdom of heaven is within you.” this heaven that HE spoke of is none other than the HEART. in the Upanishads the mystic hindu ascetics have affirmed that the dwelling place of the Lord Purusha in the body is the Heart. the way of the sufi is the way of the heart. Love is the ruler of the heart. when the heart is ruled by LOVE LOVE LOVE, there is no limit to the heights a spiritual seeker can reach. in the chakra system, the fourth chakra is located inside the heart. the fourth chakra is the seat of LOVE. on my first visit to senegal in 1996, my sufi master Cheikh Bethio(ya nafi yag Thioune) said to me ” the only one closer to Allah than you is the one who loves Allah more than you.” prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has said that God said ” I can not fit into the heavens or the earth, but I fit into the hearts of those who believe in ME.” may we all make the pilgrimage of the heart to realize and know the true reality of Love, God and the self !!!
“the closest place to meet Allah/God is in the heart” -Noble Drew Ali.
Eye once beheld a most beautiful effulgent LIGHT, about the size of a thumb, in my vision. the LIGHT spoke to me and said ” I AM a secret deep within your heart. know Me and worship ME before you leave this earth.”

“He who is supremely devoted to the Lord and has the same devotion to his guru, to him alone will the truths explained herein clearly reveal themselves.” Guru Gita vs 19
The Guru Gita infaticly states that the Guru and God are One ! In this verse the Gita is asking the devotee to have the same devotion for his Guru as he does for God. Man is the microcosm of God. All that is manifest in God is manifest in/as man. Cheikh Bawa Muhayadeen has said “man is God in the forgetting of himself.
In the absence of the ego or the concept of a false ‘i” MAN exists in a state of Oneness with God. the very idea “i exist” is a falsehood. the Only I that exist and has true BEing is the all inclusive infinite state of the I AM GOD consciousness. the very fact that this I AM is the Only consciousness shows its relationship to man because man shares in the possibility of the awareness of the true I AM GOD state. When man comes to know with certainty his oneness with the I AM state, Man is a Guru/God.
In sandskrit the word Gu means darkness. the word Ru means remover. thus the word Guru means remover of darkness. Light is the only remover of darkness. Light is God. the Guru, having the power to remove darkness is the manifestation of the Light of God made flesh. “and the word dwelt amougst men and became flesh.” – Holy Bible
In the Bagavad Gita Lord Krishna proclaims there is no difference between Him and the non-manifest Brahman. Lord Krishna emaplains to Arjuna that the way to merge with Him is through Bhakti(love-devotion). the disciple HU has the same devoation to his Guru as he does with God will ultimately destroy his ego and merg/melt in/with God-Allah-Brahman!

786. . . Drinking from the Source 1
Om Allah Hu ! here we begin the illustrious journey of DRINKING FROM THE SOURCE ! in this most important series of weekly blogs we will drink directly from the Guru Gita. the Guru Gita is a non-dual advaita text from the hindu/vendanta tradition. its main theme is the explanation of the Oneness of Self, Braman(God), the universe and the Guru.
Prostrations to Brahman, the Unthinkable, the Unmanifest, beyond the 3 Gunas(modes of existence), yet the very Self of existence, the supporting Substace/Substratum behind the manifested universe.- Guru Gita verse 1
the Self, the universe, and the Guru/Cheikh are manifestations of one BEing that we call Brahman-Allah-God. the 1st verse of the Guru Gita makes this fact clear. God is unthinkable, beyond the mind. unmanifest, not found in existence, yet immanent in existence and the substance beyond the outward form of existence, the universe. the Guru Gita starts from the lofty view point that all of existence is the direct manifestation of Brahman-Allah-God.
the sufis have a saying “Allah veils/hides Himself with Himself.” there is no other thing to veil/hide Allah because Allah is All. the same Allah is the essence of ALL forms and the Self. the Guru Gita starts with the concept of transcendence and imminence, first saying that Brahman(God) is beyond the 3 gunas(modes of existence) ie transcendent and then affirming that Brahman IS the substance of the manifested universe. in the sufi way we have the exact same concept. La ee la ha ill Allah on an inner esoteric level means Allah is the only reality !
from beyond the veil of the mind, Brahman-Allah-God manifest as the Self of all beings in existence. it is the goal of the seeker to know and BE/manifest this true Self, that is beyond the mind and all false concepts of self. in this series of blogs we will DRINK FROM THE SOURCE to obtain a level of clarity and certainty of the Oneness of the Self and God. it is the Guru/Cheikh who is ultimately the key of awakening for the jiva/soul to awaken to its true identity/nature. please feel free to ask any questions as we Drink from the Source. . . . om shanti- as salam wa laikum

786… 7 principles of Self Realization
“Herein is expounded the means of attaining
APAROKSHANUBHUTI-SELF REALIZATION
for the acquisition of final liberation. Only the pure in heart should constantly and with all effort meditate upon the truth herein taught.” – Sri Sankara
From this day forward know that the true Self(atman) is God(Brahman)! The worst slavery in the world is the false teaching that God is outside of Self. May this wisdom of Self Knowledge rid us all of this poison, and be an aid to Self-God Realization. Non Dual Advaita is the science of God based on ONEness. Advaita does not see duality between man and God. One of the founders of this school of philosophy was Sri Sankara. A Hindu proverb says that “knowledge is a benefit to people, and Sri Sankara was a benefit to knowledge.” Sri Sankara’s thought was revolutionary in the time period that he came. Hinduism has 108 deities. Sri Sankara clarified the understanding that all of the Deities that the Hindus worship are manifestations of the ONE Supreme Brahman. Just as in Islam we worship Allah who has 99 attributes. In Hinduism Brahman has 108 attributes, that are worshiped as individual Deities. The 7 principles for Self realization are explained in Sri Sankaras short text “Aparokshanubhuti-Self Realization.” This text serves as a summary, and introduction to my favorite philosophy, Non Dual Advaita. In reality, the 7 principles are qualities that a seeker must have to take the journey to Self Realization.
The first principle is indifference. Indifference means that the seeker should have no attraction to the material things of this world. The example in the text given is that the things of this world should be viewed on the same level as cow dung. Pure indifference means that the seeker is not even interested in the rewards and blessing one may receive from the Creator in another life time or heaven. Ckeikh Abdul Qadir Jilani alluded to this level of pure indifference when he said “sufism is two steps, a step out of this world into heaven, and a step out of heaven into the Divine Presence.
The second principle is discrimination. Discrimination is having the knowledge to know the difference between what is Real, and what is illusion. In Budist dharma, this is almost the same as the concept of impermanence, which says that all things in the universe are impermanent, and therefor have no real existence. Discrimination is the ability to know/see God as the only reality, and untimely to see and know that the Self is God. One of Sri Sankara’s famous teachings is that “a rope may be mistaken for a snake, but upon finding out that it is a rope, the false existence of the snake disappears.” In his philosophy, the universe and the false self, ego, are represented by the snake. Upon Self realization the Self, God, and the universe are seen as ONE and the same Being, Brahman.
The third principle is abandonment of desires. In the text Sri Sankara says that this means turning away completely from all sense objects. It is previous impressions laying dormant in the mind as well as the contact of the mind with external objects that creates desires. To abandon these desires the mind must become disassociated with the two main causes of desire by purification and meditation. Impressions laying dormant in the mind can be purified and removed by the use of sufi zikr or sacred mantras from Hinduism and/or Buddhism. Meditation, and the development of focusing the mind on the Divine, through developing one pointedness of the mind, remove the mind from contact with sense objects.
The fourth principle is endurance of all sorrow and pain. One sufi master from our sufi order, Cheikh Ibra Fall used to say “the harder the better.” Our beloved prophet Muhammad(peace be upon Him) has said “if you love Allah, prepare for trials.” In the Holy Quran Allah says ” I test those who try to come close to me. Do not think that you can come close to Me without being tried like those who came before you.” The sufi way is patience during test and trials, and thankfulness during times of affluence and blessing. From the viewpoint of Non Dual Advaita test and trials are the same as affluence and abundance.
The fifth principle is implicit faith in the words of the Holy scriptures and teachers(Gurus or Cheikhs). It is said in the sufi way “if you doubt you are out.” The seeker must have faith in the teacher, and the method he/she is teaching for Self Realization. The first level of faith is belief. The seeker must believe in the words of the scriptures and the teacher. The seeker must travel from the level of belief, to the level of certainty. It is at the level of certainty that the fruits of the path come to fruition. In this faith principle we find the subtle implication that the scriptures alone are NOT enough for Self Realization. One must find a Self Realized spiritual guide to help guide them on the path.
The sixth principle is concentration of the mind on God, the ONLY Reality. This principle is the end result of Realization. The mind of a Self Realized being is absorbed in God. The mind of a Self Realized being does not see any existence other than God. In the sufi way one of the main mantras/zikr is LA EE LA HA ILL ALLAH. The esoteric meaning of this zikr is God is the only Reality. Constant repetition of this zikr is one way to bring the mind to absorption in God.
The seventh principle is burning desire in the heart for God. This burning desire in the heart for God is the ONLY desire that a seeker should have. This burning desire is a flame in the heart that burns all and everything, leaving only the presence of God. This burning desire for God is a flame that has the power to burn the negative karma of a seeker, opening the way for the seeker to reach Self Realization. Once while sitting with our beloved master Cheikh Betchio in Senegal he said ” I can do anything for a disciple on the path, but if the disciple does not have the internal desire to reach God, there is nothing I can do for him.”
These are the 7 requirements that a seeker must have to journey on the path. Before Sri Sankara starts his explanation he says “only the pure at heart” should meditate on theses teachings. So in essence the 1st and most important unstated principle is having a pure heart. In the Holy Quran Allah says “he indeed succeeds who purifies it.” It, refers to the heart.

786…The Divine Mother, Divine Feminine, & Union of opposites
The Divine Mother
last night eye had a talk with the Divine Mother
believe it or not
SHE was older than God
It was as if eye was talking to my great grandmother
We sat at the kitchen table
Drank tea
And had a heart to heart talk
Eye asked Her
How did eye become God?
She said
U ate the name of God
And became God
Last night eye had a talk with the Divine Mother
She was older than God…..
Divine Feminine
Female Divinity is often times over looked. If the woman is not God, then no man is God!!! In the Hindu and Buddhist traditions the Divine Feminine is well represented. My master Cheikh Betchio once said “the secret of Allah is inside of the woman.” My mother was God. When eye started studying the 5% lessons years ago, eye came home and said “mom I AM God.” She said “I know that, just don’t let it go to your ego.”
EGO= ease God out.
From my studies of female Divinity, eye found it best explained in the worship of Shiva and Shakti. The Divine female consort of Lord Shiva is Shakti. Shiva represents the power of God that is transcendent, beyond this universe. When this power becomes active and creates the universe, that power/energy is feminine, and is called Shakti. The creative power of God is a feminine energy. An analogy to explain this is: Shiva is like an ocean of power that is motionless. When that power/ocean takes motion, the waves from the ocean are called Shakti. Thus God is still and motionless. When God takes action, that action is feminine, and is called Shakti
Union of opposites
The sufi path is a journey that takes place on the plane of the soul. The entire journey is a journey of soul transformation. In Arabic the word for soul is (nafs). The word nafs in arabic is feminine. So the sufi journey is of a feminine nature. The spirit in Arabic is called (ruh). Ruh in Arabic is a masculine word. The soul plane nafs is feminine. The spirit plane ruh is masculine. The prophet Muhammad said that “marriage is half of Islam.” This statement has a profound esoteric meaning for the sufi. The goal of the sufi is to reach a unified internal state where the (soul-nafs- feminine) is married to the (ruh-spirit-masculine).
In the ancient Egyptian book of the Dead it says “when the Ka(soul) is united with the Ba(spirit) man and God are ONE!!!
In Islam the outward representation of the unification of the Divine masculine(spirit) and feminine(soul) principals is the KABA in Mecca. The kaba of man is the heart. In essence, the Self realization of God, marriage of the soul and spirit, takes place in the Heart. Love and Light—sufi
